High pH Therapy Resources

pH therapy also called high pH therapy, focuses on using a combined nutrition and supplement approach to balance body pH by reducing the load on the overworked buffering system. The alkaline diet focus of pH therapy is of particular importance for those needing intense nutritional support when dealing with cancer and other ailments.

The rationale for “high pH” therapy resides in changing the acidic pH range of the cancer cell towards weak alkalinity in which the survival of the cancer cell is endangered, and the formation of acidic and toxic materials, normally formed in cancer cells, is neutralized and eliminated. Below is a collection of articles on research using high ph therapy with cesium chloride and helpful book resources on diet and high ph therapy.

1. High pH Therapy Cancer Researchers

In 1931 Otto Heinrich Warburg was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his “discovery of the nature and mode of action of the respiratory enzyme”. In 1944, Warburg was nominated a second time for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on the mechanism and enzymes involved in fermentation. Warburg articulated his hypothesis in a paper entitled The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer. Warburg presented evidence in support of the claim that anaerobiosis was a primary cause of cancerous cells. Put in his own words, “the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.

Warburg investigated the metabolism of tumors and the respiration of cells, particularly cancer cells, and in 1931 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology for his “discovery of the nature and mode of action of the respiratory enzyme.” The award came after receiving 46 nominations over a period of nine years beginning in 1923, 13 of which were submitted in 1931, the year he won the prize.

The Warburg Theory of Cancer or “Warburg hypothesis” (as distinguished from the Warburg effect) postulates that the driver of tumorigenesis is an insufficient cellular respiration caused by insult to mitochondria. The Warburg Effect describes the observation that cancer cells, and many cells grown in-vitro, exhibit glucose fermentation even when enough oxygen is present to properly respire. In other words, instead of fully respiring in the presence of adequate oxygen, cancer cells ferment. The current popular opinion is that cancer cells ferment glucose while keeping up the same level of respiration that was present before the process of carcinogenesis, and thus the Warburg Effect would be defined as the observation that cancer cells exhibit glycolysis with lactate secretion and mitochondrial respiration even in the presence of oxygen.

On June 30th 1966 Otto Warburg gave a lecture at the meeting of the Nobel-Laureates on June 30, 1966 at Lindau, Lake Constance, Germany. He was quoted as saying:

Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar. All normal body cells meet their energy needs by respiration of oxygen, whereas cancer cells meet their energy needs in great part by fermentation. All normal body cells are thus obligate aerobes, whereas all cancer cells are partial anaerobes. From the standpoint of the physics and chemistry of life this difference between normal and cancer cells is so great that one can scarcely picture a greater difference. Oxygen gas, the donor of energy in plants and animals is dethroned in the cancer cells and replaced by an energy yielding reaction of the lowest living forms, namely, a fermentation of glucose.

The discovery for which the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine is to be awarded today concerns intracellular combustion: that fundamental vital process by which substances directly supplied to cells or stored in them are broken down into simpler components while using up oxygen. It is by this process that the energy required for other vital processes is made available to the cells in a form capable of immediate utilization.

The development of his theory of high pH cancer therapy with cesium chloride grew out of his understanding of the physics of the cell membrane. In his paper The High pH Therapy for Cancer Tests on Mice and Humans, he stated “mass spectrographic and isotope studies have shown that potassium, rubidium, and especially cesium are most efficiently taken up by cancer cells. Based on the ready uptake of cesium and rubidium (which cannot carry glucose across the membrane) by the cancer cells, Dr. Brewer devised a therapy aimed at depriving the cell of glucose and supporting the system with antioxidants and other nutrients. The quantity of cesium taken up was sufficient to raise the cell to the 8 pH range. Where cell mitosis ceases and the life of the cell is short.”

The development of his theory of the High pH Cancer Therapy with Cesium grew out of his understanding of the physics of the cell membrane.

Mass spectrographic and isotope studies have shown that potassium, rubidium, and especially cesium are most efficiently taken up by cancer cells. Where cell mitosis ceases and the life of the cell is short. Tests on mice fed cesium and rubidium showed marked shrinkage in the tumor masses within 2 weeks.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Dr. Keith Brewer, a physicist, served for some time in his research career as Chief of the Mass Spectrometer and Isotope section of the National Bureau of Standards (now the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD). Among the studies he conducted beginning in the early 1930s, the examination of the ratio of potassium isotopes 39K/41K in a wide range of living and nonliving materials proved most fruitful, particularly in the study of cancer initiation.

H.E. Satori, M.D. was a clinical practitioner who used cesium chloride for high ph therapy along with additional support supplements and a nutrition regimen for terminal cancer patients.

A brief overview on the relevance of dietary factors in both development and prevention of cancer is presented. The pharmacologic properties of various food ingredients are discussed. Establishing of a special diet for the cancer patient is suggested. In addition, avoidance of certain foods is recommended to counteract mucus production of cancer cells. Evaluation of the nutrient content of certain diets in regions with low incidence of cancer has advanced the use of certain alkali metals, i.e., rubidium and cesium, as chemotherapeutic agents. The rationale for this approach, termed the ” high pH therapy “, resides in changing the acidic pH range of the cancer cell by cesium (or rubidium) towards weak alkalinity in which the survival of the cancer cell is endangered, and the formation of acidic and toxic materials, normally formed in cancer cells, is neutralized and eliminated.

Cancer does not cause cells to turn anaerobic, but rather it is stabilized anaerobic metabolism that is the single cause that turns the normal cells that depend on aerobic metabolism into cancer cells. The proposed cure, as an alternative to protocols that focus on killing the cancer cells, is to restart aerobic metabolism, which allows the cells to revert back to being quasi-normal cells again. Genetic damage is not corrected, but if the cells are held in a normal state of aerobic metabolism, with time they will go through the normal process of programmed cell death (apoptosis) and the cancer cells are permanently eliminated. For the proposed cure, the task is to walk through each step of aerobic metabolism, identify the nutrient that stimulates/assists it, and combine them all in a dietary/treatment protocol.

2. High pH Therapy Diet and Nutrition

High pH therapy begins with what you eat. Dietary change is the first and easiest thing that you can do to improve your ph. These charts are a basic guideline for those trying to adjust their diet by eating fewer acidic foods and more alkaline foods.

Everything we eat affects the health and well-being of our body. Most calls to “change your diet” to improve your health include these recommendations: eat whole, unprocessed foods (raw fruits, raw vegetables, whole grains); drink plenty of clean water (not tap or filtered); and reduce or eliminate intake of refined sugar and flour products, coffee, soft drinks, margarine, commercial cooking oils, dairy and other animal products. In processed foods, heat destroys some of the nutrient value, including destroying enzymes and reducing vitamin and antioxidant content.

High dietary sugar intake has been linked to increases in both pancreatic and colon cancer. Cancer cells metabolize through fermentation — a process in which glucose is used as a fuel for these abnormal cells in the absence of the oxygen that a normal cell needs.

Aspartame is one of the most controversial food additive in history. Aspartame has been shown to readily breakdown into toxic byproducts (phenylalanine, methanol, formaldehyde) when ingested. Adverse health effects have come to light after years of research and the proliferation of artificial sweeteners in food products.

SCIENTIFIC STUDY

The modern dairy industry has introduced bovine growth hormones, antibiotics and other toxins into the milk supply. A scientific study has shown that the level of a very powerful hormone contained in milk, insulin-like growth factor-I, increases in the human body after milk consumption. Increased dietary intake of milk and dairy products have been linked to breast, ovarian and testicular cancers.

Soybeans must undergo extensive processing, including chemical extractions and high temperatures, or long fermentation before they suitable for human digestion. Even after such processing, soy can pose a potential health risk. Soy products can contain phytic acid, which blocks the uptake of essential minerals; phytoestrogens, which behave like the hormone estrogen; hemaglutinin, which reduces red blood cells’ ability to carry oxygen; and enzyme inhibitors, which can block the action of enzymes needed for protein digestion.

Whole foods are foods that have been processed or refined as little as possible before being consumed and are the purest form of nutrition available. An excellent source of complex-carbohydrates – the healthiest form of carbohydrate.

Cold-pressed coconut oil has been called the healthiest oil in the world. Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, which is known for being anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-fungal. Coconut-eating cultures in the tropics have consistently lower cholesterol.

Hemp seeds contain all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary to maintain healthy human life. No other single plant source has the essential amino acids in such an easily digestible form. Hemp seed products are rich in proteins and dietary fiber and are one of the most balanced sources of essenstial fatty acids.

“Hospice had the very best of intentions, [but] the stuff they sent over was not real FOOD. In fact, I’m outraged at the idea that they feed this stuff to dying people.” Ensure is…one of the worst examples of a Big Food corporation masquerading as a healthy alternative you’ll ever see. The company has deep ties to the medical industry and as such you can find their products in just about every hospital today, which is bad news for millions of patients who are just trying to get healthier.

3. pH Therapy Lifestyle Change

The the vast majority of chronic diseases are caused by choices made by the patients themselves. The great failing in turning to conventional medicine or relying on prescription drugs is that patients shift responsibility for their health outcome to the drugs themselves. Much the same problem exists in the area of natural remedies and alternative medicine. In other words, they aren’t taking ownership of their health outcome; they are asking for a cure from outside themselves.

I’ve always been amazed at the ability of people to cognitively recognize the detrimental health effects of foods and yet continue consuming those foods. I think that people understand the information and they want to change but they feel that they are unable to. They feel like they cannot break that pattern of behavior in their life. That pattern is very difficult to change because patterns provide comfort and familiarity, even if they’re destructive.

In western medicine, the name of the disease obscures the root cause. That makes all diseases sound far more complex and mysterious than they really are. For example, “Osteoporosis is a disease that causes weak and fragile bones.” But it’s all hogwash. There is no such disease as osteoporosis. It’s just a name for a pattern of symptoms that indicate you’ve let your bones get fragile.

Cancer generally develops over a long period of time, divided into 3 stages, initiation, promotion and progression. The initiation stage is thought to be occurring most of the time in most of our tissues. The promotion stage is a long growth phase occurring over months or years and is known to be reversible. Most estimates suggest that not more than 2-3 percent of cancers are due entirely to genes; almost all the rest is due to diet and lifestyle factors. Believing that cancer is attributed to genes is a fatalistic idea but believing that cancer can be controlled by nutrition is a far more hopeful idea.

Mice raised in a complex environment providing social interactions, opportunities to learn and increased physical activity are less likely to get cancer, and better at fighting it when they do, a new study suggests. A mild boost in stress hormones seems to be what keeps the cancer at bay by switching on a molecular pathway that restrains tumour growth.

Certain genes that help prevent cancer are turned off with certain foods while other foods turn on genes to fight cancer.

There is something that every cancer patient should hear from their oncologist when they are first diagnosed. They should be told that by making certain dietary changes, they could increase their chances of healing from cancer dramatically, no matter what course of treatment they pursue.

The Marchioness of Worcester has spoken for the first time about her successful battle against breast cancer, and has credited an organic diet and complementary medicine with helping her beat the disease. The Marchioness is adamant that her diet of organic food played a key role in maintaining her strength and aiding her recovery. She said that an “alkaline diet”, which removes processed food, meat and alcohol, helped her to get through the chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Ten years ago Kris Carr was diagnosed with inoperable tumours – yet today she feels better than ever. Kris decided to find her own way to manage her condition, through a combination of a plant-based diet and nontraditional medicine. she argues, a highly alkaline, plant-based diet can alleviate, combat and actively prevent a multitude of health problems, including not just cancer but also autism, arthritis, depression and diabetes.

Only 5–10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90–95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle. In this review, we present evidence that inflammation is the link between the agents/factors that cause cancer and the agents that prevent it. In addition, we provide evidence that cancer is a preventable disease that requires major lifestyle changes. The evidence indicates that of all cancer-related deaths, almost 25–30% are due to tobacco, as many as 30–35% are linked to diet, about 15–20% are due to infections, and the remaining percentage are due to other factors like radiation, stress, physical activity, environmental pollutants etc.

The majority of cancers were more a result of molecular changes caused by external factors than internal ones. Overall, the team concludes that just 10-30% of cancers can probably be considered “bad luck” cancers. Which means that a much higher percentage might be considered “lifestyle choice” cancers – results of the activities we engage in (or don’t engage in) every day, and the environments we live in.

It has been estimated that 40 percent of all cancers can be prevented by lifestyle and dietary measures alone. Obesity, nutrient sparse foods such as concentrated sugars and refined flour products that contribute to impaired glucose metabolism (which leads to diabetes), low fiber intake, consumption of red meat, and imbalance of omega 3 and omega 6 fats all contribute to excess cancer risk. Intake of flax seed, especially its lignan fraction, and abundant portions of fruits and vegetables will lower cancer risk. Allium and cruciferous vegetables are especially beneficial, with broccoli sprouts being the densest source of sulforophane. Protective elements in a cancer prevention diet include selenium, folic acid, vitamin B-12, vitamin D, chlorophyll, and antioxidants such as the carotenoids (α-carotene, β-carotene, lycopene, lutein, cryptoxanthin). Ascorbic acid has limited benefits orally, but could be very beneficial intravenously. Supplementary use of oral digestive enzymes and probiotics also has merit as anticancer dietary measures. When a diet is compiled according to the guidelines here it is likely that there would be at least a 70 percent decrease in breast, colorectal, and prostate cancers, and even a 50 percent decrease in lung cancer, along with similar reductions in cancers at other sites. Such a diet would be conducive to preventing cancer and would favor recovery from cancer as well.
